My Mother use to say that she hated to see the spring come. We lived in the woods and for some reason I found all the Baby birds that had fallen from their nests. It was like I had a baby bird magnet installed right over my heart that drew me to them. I would of course pick them up, and bring them home. Not a single one survived, and I am sure that the diet of crackers and milk may have had something to do with it. I've never really gotten over it. Scarred for life.
This little Bird inside a fabric case is a handy remedy for anyone wishing to overcome these tragic memories.
He handily fits in the black net pocket for storage when you need him to. I think that he is a cheerful reminder that many birds have actually survived the spring without my ministering to them.
This handy dandy fabric case ties in the back over a vintage button. The bird cage on the front has been free sewn with my trusty Thread Pusher. (That's Baggaraggs talk for sewing Machine.) Off hand I do not have the dimensions, if that's important to you, I'd be happy to provide you with the details.
PS. This is not for a child, just a Childlike adult.

The Rough Magic
It is a quiet morning in the Baggaraggs. Albert and I have had our morning stroll out back. I found our neighbor's cat inside the Pool Cage, he had fallen through the screening at the top, as it is old and needs repair. Poor thing, he was meowing up a storm when I came out the back sliders, and came right over to me even though I had the dog.
It is a balmy 73 degrees here and the Light is perfect and the Birds are composing their melodies for the neighborhood.
The Seasons are changing, not that the seasons in the Baggaraggs are so dramatic. But the Golden Rain tree has begun to leaf, and the amaryllis is up and trumpeting. It has been a mild winter, and the browns will soon turn to green, the growing things will wake.
These mornings I struggle to find the words that define the magic that comes with ordinary living. I think of the Morning Prayer and the lighting of the candle, asking for the Presence of the Divine to be in my Home, and in Me. I think of the days this winter when I made a fire, and the very magic of the kindling. I think of the fusion of the tastes that made the soup, and the tending of it with a kind of Wonder, and the transition of the Flour into Bread. The smell of it baking fills my Home with a singular kind of Peace and Comfort. I can almost feel the healing of it in its Smell.
Today, with these words, I give thanks for what I call the Rough Magic. The transitional moments when Chemistry Changes the flour and yeast to bread, the veggies and meat to soup, the seed to a flower.
I believe that God is in those moments. I believe that God is always present in the Making. And I am Thankful.

The New Year has already begun to be a bit worn at the edges, but before it becomes entirely frayed and feeling like an old shoe, I wanted to thank some friends of mine. This thanks is by no means what they deserve for all the love and support they have shown me.
First Debra of Monniebean. Her work is a wonderful, fresh breeze. Her Art...real and heartfelt. She sent me one of her Shabby Bags. WOW!
I would also like to thank my friend Dorthe of Den Lille lade. A fabulous doll artist and a very lovely lady. We have exchanged thoughts and pressies and I wanted you to see this charming fairie she sent me for Christmas. I Love her!
So many things to be thankful for. So many gifts born of friendship and sister love.

It means so much to me to have a great photo of Albert, and Vincent did a fabulous job. He and his wife Tara are Great people, professionals and SO very talented. They are based in Yuma, But if I was getting Married I would FLY them to my WEDDING to Photo the event!
Albert is struggling, we have had some bad days here lately. Still don't know what the problem is.
Anyway...wanted you all to see. wanted to share.

APOLOGIES
I have been away in my head, struggling to try to keep up and am so sorry to have neglected my Blog. I have folks to thank for sending me beautiful pieces of work and things to share. I promise I will. In the meantime I have been caring for my sick dog...This has been going on for months now and I am near crazy...not sleeping and looking like there is a squirrel loose in my Brain.
So, I will update here in the next few days. Don't give up on me.
Hugs, Robin
